In Sufism, psychology works in tandem with spirituality to help you peel back the layers of your conditioned self.

Psychology is a central plank in Sufism — refining our minds and personality is an important part of our spiritual evolution.

The Indian Sufi mystic Inayat Khan taught that the spiritual path is the beautification of personality. He also emphasized self-realization. Part of that process of cultivation is pruning and removing stones and debris so that the seeds that have been planted in you can grow freely. That can include working with your shadow — looking into your hidden, unconscious parts. While plants need light to grow, they also need fertile soil to grow in. It's important to provide both!

While we don't offer psychotherapy officially as part of our work, it's holistic in nature, which means you'll have an opportunity to look deeply into uncharted parts of your being. That includes examining the lens you use to view the world, changing your perspectives, looking at your impulses, and deepening your relationships. It's that psychological dimension of mystical practice which generates the fuel that propels us forward.
